About David

Why I’m Running

Fight for Residents, Not Special Interests

Our State Legislature needs proven leaders that will not compromise conservative principles or forget the constituents they serve. Residents from Southern Florida demand their representatives reduce the oppressive burden of the cost of living and restore moral values. There is a genuine and valid distrust in government while residents struggle to pay rent, taxes, healthcare, and transportation expenses.

Quality Education

As a product of Miami-Dade’s public school system, I understand the needs and improvements required to make Florida the most-competitive education system in the country. We need to provide additional funding and support to make Florida’s schools safer and more competitive. We must build upon past Legislative successes in empowering parents by giving them school choices and charter school options.

Prosperous Economy

Florida ranks among the best states to conduct business thanks to conservative, pro-business tax policies. I will fight to continue to reduce unnecessary business taxes and regulations. Serving as a City Commissioner, I understand the difficulty businesses face in incorporating, licensing and conducting business. Business taxes and fees in local communities need to be made uniform, predictable and unoppressive as a cost of doing business. For example, by limiting the amounts of permitting fees for the overall cost of construction and development of projects in local communities, the cost savings will be realized by consumers and help people realize the American dream of owning a home. As a pro-business conservative, I will ensure businesses have the best environment to grow and prosper.

Protect Our Values

Religious freedom is under assault and gravely at-risk in our state and nation. While freedom of speech and religious freedom are being attacked by the liberal media and liberal special interests, additional protections need to be established to ensure churches, synagogues and religious organizations do not lose their tax-exempt status and are able to practice their faiths and express their values without intervention from the government. Too many of our nation’s children suffer from fatherlessness. According to one national statistic, 24.7 million children (33%) live absent their biological father. I will work to establish criminal penalties for fathers in Florida who abandon their children or leave the responsibility of parenthood to single mothers. Florida is a hotspot for Homeless veterans, housing approximately seventeen percent of all homeless veterans in our nation. In the Legislature, I will sponsor legislation to eliminate veteran homelessness in Florida.
